The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)’s Climate and Health Program invites you to join us for presentations and a discussion about the links between climate change, extreme heat, and public health on Wednesday, August 4, 2021, from 3:00–4:15 p.m. ET.
Experts from academia, the federal government, community-based organizations, and media will come together to present about the interconnected issues between climate change, extreme heat, and community health efforts to reduce heat-related deaths and illness. This is the third webinar of the Climate and Health Science Webinar Series that highlights the pressing need for greater scientific and civic engagement to protect public health from a changing climate.
The webinar will feature presentations from Dr. Ambarish Vaidyanathan (CDC Climate and Health Program), Matthew Roach (Arizona Department of Health Services), Dr. Jalonne White-Newsome (Empowering a Green Environment and Economy, LLC), Dr. Sharon Harlan (Northeastern University), and Dr. Andy Pershing (Climate Central).
