As a healthcare provider, it is important to consider the role that healthcare systems and providers play, in regard to climate and health. In this webinar entitled Health Care and The Earth, Dr. Jodi Sherman, founding director of the Yale Program on Healthcare Environmental Sustainability, will talk about the environmental impacts of the healthcare system and its effects on public health, and what healthcare providers can do to help them mitigate those impacts.
Jodi Sherman, MD is also an Associate Professor of Anesthesiology at the Yale School of Medicine, Associate Professor of Epidemiology in Environmental Health Sciences, and Medical Director of Sustainability for Yale-New Haven Health System. Dr. Sherman is an internationally recognized researcher in the emerging field of sustainability in clinical care. Her research interest is in life cycle assessment (LCA) of environmental emissions, human health impacts, and economic impacts of drugs, devices, clinical care pathways, and health systems.
