April 21 Event – Gender, Health, & Climate Change: What is the Connection?
Gender, Health, & Climate Change: What is the Connection?
Thursday, April 21, 2022 | Virtual | 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM ET
Women and girls are uniquely vulnerable to the impacts of climate change. Yet, they are also at the forefront of global #ClimateAction. This April we reflect on this year’s priority theme for CSW 66 (on Achieving Gender Equality & Empowerment in the context of climate change) and look forward to Earth Day. UN Women NY sits down with several female leaders in the health & policy sector to discuss the connection between Gender, Health, & climate change.
Join on Thursday, April 21 at 12:30PM ET as we explore how climate change affects health, how women are particularly vulnerable, and how women can lead the way in facing the defining public health crisis of our age.
We are thrilled to host several incredible speakers on these topics including Dr. Emily Sbiroli, Emergency Medical Physician & National Physician Fellow in Climate and Health, Dr. Bhar Chekuri, National Climate & Health Science Policy Fellow, & Caitlin Gould, Environmental Policy Analyst at the US Environmental Protection Agency.
