In the third webinar of our Health and Climate Solutions Webinar Series, Dr. Sacoby Wilson, Associate Professor at the University of Maryland and Director at the Community Engagement, Environmental Justice and Health Initiative and Nsedu Obot Witherspoon, MPH, Executive Director for the Children’s Environmental Health Network will present on how climate change is impacting children’s health and how we can work together across institutions to protect the health of our communities in a changing climate.
The webinar will include discussion of:
- Climate impacts on housing, food access, and neighborhood safety that affect children’s health and climate strategies.
- Lessons from governmental and other partners fighting disasters (including COVID 19) concerning the health effects of climate change on children, especially those from vulnerable populations.
- Understanding and valuing grassroots (frontline) community engagement and their role in protecting our families, especially children from the most vulnerable families.
