Jun 27, 2020: AMWA Virtual Gathering to discuss Ijeoma Oluo’s Book “So You Want To Talk About Race?”
Saturday, June 27, 2020 – 5:30 PM ET
The American Medical Women’s Association (AMWA) will host a virtual gathering to learn and reflect on racism, what it means to be an ally and an upstander, our role as physicians and students of medicine, and to learn how to be anti-racist. Please join us Saturday, June 27 at 5:30 PM ET as we discuss So You Want To Talk About Race? by Ijeoma Oluo. Physicians, medical students, and premedical students are welcome and strongly encouraged to join us to begin these vital conversations. Even if you are unable to join us at the scheduled time, we strongly encourage you to read the book. We recognize that racism is a public health crisis and have made a commitment as an organization to recognize and speak out against racism in all of its forms. The first step in this process is to learn.
