The US health sector is responsible for 8.5% of US Greenhouse gas emissions and significantly contributes to the climate crisis. Leading healthcare organizations have focused on the impact of the healthcare sector on climate change and also the impact that climate change has on the health of the nation’s population. Dr. Shaneeta Johnson and Dr. Neelu Tummala will discuss greenhouse gas emissions of public health systems and the impact these emissions have on public health. In addition, speakers will present equitable solutions that health professionals can take to address these impacts.
